Sam Daniel (formerly known by stage name Da Sargeant) is a music recording artist, producer, musician, worship leader and speaker with a gift that enables the atmosphere of heaven to be released through the sound he carries. Sam visits churches, schools, universities, prisons and other organisations around the world sharing his influential music and story influential of how Jesus met with him during a dark time in his life. He also carries a prophetic and evangelistic minstrel in music and tongue.
Many opportunities have allowed Sam the privilege of ministering alongside many other worship leaders and speakers such as Tim Hughes (Worship Central), Ram Babu, Jaye Thomas (iHOP-KC), Eric Gilmour and more.
The journey so far has seen Sam perform at venues such as The Hackney Empire and Logan Hall, as well as many other venues across the UK and Europe. Sam has also taken pride in being able to speak at schools about the importance of life decisions. Sam was stunned to find out Grime sensation ‘Chipmunk’ would be assisting him on one of his projects which consisted of recording a Times Table Rap Album with an East London primary school class.
The former University of West London student from East London/Essex is also the founder of Revival Sounds, a music recording and production company based in London, UK. Through many years of experience, Sam has produced, mixed and mastered singles, albums, radio and TV jingles, background music for adverts and games.
Sam is a multi-instrumentalist playing the Keys/Piano, Bass, Acoustic Guitar and Drums, and is heavily influenced by Contemporary Christian, Black Gospel, Western Mainstream, and Indian Cinematic Music. Sam has been recognised by bringing communities of people together through his music. ”I don’t like to categorise myself to a particular genre or style, rather I experiment and see what happens.” explains Sam Daniel.
Much of the arrangement for London based Worship Band ‘Capstone KINESIS’ debut album ‘Hover Over Us’ (2014) was directed by Sam. He had also played and sung in live album recordings, and has produced English and Tamil worship albums for independent artists across Europe.
Especially remembered for his involvement in the UK Tamil Music Industry, the 23 year old had released tracks from years 2007-2011, most of which were very popular.
‘Yeshuve’ – was the hit release under Sam’s former stage name ‘Da Sargeant’ that featured songwriter Luke James in December 2011. Upon this a ‘Bhangra Remix’ of the song was then released in June 2012, featuring 7 other artists performing in 6 different languages. The remix version found itself at the top 10 of the iTunes Chart at 4th position.
In 2012 Sam had been given a half page feature on the ‘Ilford Recorder’ about his life and music. By the end of 2014 Sam has had most of his songs featured on many media streaming websites and also played on Christian radio stations especially in South Asia. In 2015 Sam had been interviewed by Media giant ‘Vice Magazine’ which gained him recognition for his latest single ‘Who Is Like You’ which topped the iTunes US charts at 4th position and had airplay on the BBC Asian Network.
In the past four years Sam has visited and played in Romania, India, Switzerland, Sweden, China France, Canada and Sri Lanka. In 2015, Sam had completed a national tour where he had visited over 30 cities in the UK. Sam has been confirmed to play in the Netherlands, Barcelona and Switzerland in 2016, and has been confirmed for the Phillipines and a possible US tour in 2017.
Currently Sam is part of the leadership team at Naujavan – A ministry inclusively focused on equipping and releasing British Asian Christians.
Sam has a heart for the nations, to see the young and old set free, changed, discipled and on fire for Christ. He uses his gift in music, media and also sports to make Jesus known.
Till date Sam has been offered recording deals and contracts which were carefully considered but eventually turned down.
